Introductions-What is the course about and who is your teacher?
Hello and Welcome to the course! I'm excited you chose to continue your professional development. This course is for contractors just beginning and for seasoned contractors looking enhance or grow their business. This course is basic introduction to the "code" The international Residential code book which governs residential remodeling and building and the code requirements that must be followed to be compliant when completing residential construction. Alot of people in contracting have asked "is this up to code" or "what does the code book say". Believe it or not there is an actual book.
Who is you teacher?
My name is Chris Kerby. My father has been a remodeler for over 40 years, and I retired after 20 years in the Navy and then decided to start a remodeling business after some time spent flipping houses. I possess a bachelor's degree in Business Administration as well as a Master's degree in Management and Leadership from American Military University. I am a graduate from the Naval War college as well. I possess an Alabama Home Builder's License for two of my companies Kerby Custom Renovations and Kerby Homes. We have completed over 500 remodeling projects, additions and home builds. I have 22 employees and own an interior design company (Kerby Interior Design) as well. We have won multiple industry awards and continue to develop and grow our people. My passion has always been coaching and seeing the development of people.
